This notice is provided for the allocation process of BCA Record ID.

The term "BCA" should be read as "NBCA" in the case of DVD-R and DVD-RW
At the request of DVD Forum, DVD FLLC will start the allocation of BCA Record ID. The BCA Record ID Allocation process will begin from Oct.1, 2006. If any company is already using a BCA Record ID for "Notified Application" for some reason or another, the number should be reported to DVD FLLC (info@dvdfllc.co.jp) during a three-month grace period from Oct.1, 2006 to Dec.31, 2006.
So BCA Record ID allocation service shall be started after the above grace period.

Categories of BCA Record ID
BCA Record ID shall be defined commonly for all DVD Physical Specifications and shall be classified into two categories as shown in the following table.

Allocation process of BCA Record ID
3.1 BCA Record ID for "Notified Application"
The BCA Record ID for "Notified Application" of BCA Record format* shall be registered and allocated by DVD FLLC. DVD FLLC provides one (1) BCA Record ID per company (Applicant).

Any company that intends to distribute discs with BCA Record ID to a specific group of users may apply. BCA Record ID for "Notified Application" should be allocated and registered according to the following procedures:
(2) Fill in the Application Form and return to DVD FLLC by fax at +81-3-5777-2884.
(3) After reviewing the Form, DVD FLLC will notify the Applicant of BCA Record ID via e-mail or fax.

3.2 BCA Record ID for "Authorized Application"
BCA Record ID for "Authorized Application" shall be announced on the website of DVD FLLC. When the discs with BCA Record ID are to be distributed to general users, BCA Record ID for "Authorized Application" should be registered and allocated according to the following procedures:.
(1) Implementation developer sends to TCG, DVD Forum, the proposal for approval of the applicable BCA Record format.
(2) TCG reviews the proposal and, if it deems appropriate, approves as "Authorized Application".
(3) TCG informs DVD FLLC of its approval.
(4) The BCA Record ID for "Authorized Application" will be announced on the website of DVD FLLC.
